In the Montessori Classes, 'directors/directresses' work together to develop children's individual strengths and talents via Montessori practice and philosophy.
The Montessori programme defines Early Learning Goals in the following eight areas of learning. These are:
Montessori Learning Goals
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Practical Life
Sensorial Skills Development
Mathematics Development
Language and Literacy Development
Knowledge and Understanding of the World: Processes in Early Science
Aesthetic and Creative Development
Physical Development
At Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten our Montessori pupils explore the above areas of learning through independent exploration as well as structured activities using Montessori equipment and procedures.
In keeping with our school's global aims and philosophy, we value and place a balanced emphasis on the acquisition of an understanding of Chinese culture and language. The afternoon sessions of Montessori classes are conducted in Mandarin.
