Key Stage 1 (KS1) represents the first two years of the primary phase. At Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten we provide a broad and balanced KS1 curriculum up to and including Year One.

Consolidating skills

In Year One, children are taught via interesting cross-curricular topics that encompass not only the core subjects required by the English National Curriculum, but also Art and Design, Geography, History, Music and Physical Education.

In keeping with our school's global aims and philosophy, we value and place a balanced emphasis on the acquisition of an understanding of Chinese culture, language and numeracy. A large part of the afternoon sessions of Year One are conducted in Mandarin.
